Ishibashiya Konyaku (Konjac) Slab is translucent, gelatinous traditional Japanese slab (cake) or noodles made from the Konjac yam. The word “shirataki” means white waterfall, referring to the appearance of these slabs or noodles. Largely composed of water and glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fiber, they are very low in digestible carbohydrates and calories, and have little flavour of their own.

Known as a wonder food, they contain very few calories, carbs or fat. These slabs contain no wheat, gluten or soy allowing everyone to enjoy this healthy treat.

This is the Slab version.

This traditional Japanese ingredient is ideal for a Japanese style hot pot (Sukiyaki), also perfect in stews such as nikujaga, or for a quick oriental stir-fry.

This Konyaku is excellent at absorbing surrounding flavours and has a chewy texture ideal for soup and noodle dishes or okonomiyaki.
