Ajinomoto Hondashi or Bonito Fish Stock is a hugely versatile ingredient that is the basis for many dishes such as noodle soup or mixed with miso paste for miso soup. Traditionally made from katsuobushi bonito flakes and konbu kelp strained together, this instant variety is much quicker and easier to prepare and is made with a simple bonito.
Ingredients
Salt, Sugar, Dried Bonito, Bonito Extract, Yeast Extract, Fermented Wheat Protein/Seasoning, Amino Acid – Contains Fish
Uses: Dashi is the basis of all Japanese flavorings.
• Miso/Tonjiru/Suimono Soup: 1/2 teaspoon dashi granules dissolved in 150ml water is perfect for a single serving.
• Boiled/Stewed Foods: Use 2 teaspoons of dashi granules per 300ml water.
• Tamagoyaki omelette: Use 1 teaspoon dashi granules for 2 eggs.
